About Us
C&D Chassis is a partnership between two racing junkies who teamed up to build a dedicated chassis shop in Crossville, Tennessee—focused on serious drag racing hardware from design to drive.
Darrell
Over 20 years in fabrication—starting with off-road and sprint cars—then two decades at Brinks Race Craft (Irving, TX), building everything from pro cars to outlaw to Pro Mod chassis. Master of chromoly and TIG, aluminum and carbon fiber work, and 25 cages in full-body cars (GTRs, Camaros, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc.).
Notable work includes Ronnie Hobbs “Texas Rattlesnake,” David Baldwin’s 63 Split-Window Corvette, Tom Hurley’s 57 Chevy, vintage Corvettes for Bob & Ji Caudle, plus collaborations with Heath Murray Custom Rods, T1 Performance (Tony Palo), and cage installs for Kenny Tran of Jotech. Three years at Bonneville with Lee Sicilio—12 records and member of the Bonneville 250 MPH club as crew chief.
Charlotte
Co-Owner of a swimming pool construction company with Albert and Race Schmidt in El Paso, TX for 47 years. Began racing in the early 80s in Super Street, then Pro, then Outlaw—all in a 57 Sedan Delivery Wagon. Southwest Grudge Belt winner and still holds the title.
Later moved into a Pro Mod ’53 Vette at Xtreme. After a wishbone failure and a brush with the wall, Charlotte met Darrell—who repaired the car. That led to a partnership: building a chassis shop in Crossville, TN to turn passion into craft.
